As we promised in our Newsletter in December we have published our new free small module for Mambo/Joomla CMS.
It enables data to be sent to Google Analytics and also tracks your registered users. This gives you vital information about who is spending time using your website. You can download it for free as a registered user at http://www.mamboassistance.com/download/ under MAMBO/JOOMLA Extensions category.

Do we need to add the site to our Google analytics account to see the data?

1. Install module as usual.
2. Set all needed data in Google Analytics module preferences.
3. Wait minimum 1 day for GA to collect needed data.
4. Log it to your GA account and go to All Reports > Marketing Optimization > Visitor Segment Performance > User-defined to see your collected data.

how to use?
Written by rlee on 2007-01-25 00:48:21
Thanks for this module. I'm a newbie and do not know how to position it immediately before the final closing body tag. Is there a tutorial on this sort of thing. The lowest option I have after footer is debug. Or do I put it anywhere and then copy anything to do with that module down to that position. Any help appreciated.

It depends on your template. Look at your website and see what module is displayed as last and place GA after this one. It will also work when you place it somewhere else but if you have many visitors on your website it can cause that it will display slower.

No, you don't have to place GA code in your template.

must I publish the module in an active position? when i publish it in position left there is a new title in my website.

You need to publish and disable "display title" option in module properities. If you see any other code on your site then it looks like your template doesn't work with w3c standards and you need to correct it.

Code for template
Written by kenlyle on 2007-04-02 16:41:00
What is the code that goes into the template, then?

Should it be like ?

So we should create a module position like "google", then

assign the Module in the Admin to that position,

and then the code that goes in the template just before the body close is:

Thanks,
Ken
Will not install
Written by jbrandt04330 on 2007-09-12 03:42:14
I'm using joomla! 1.0.12c and can't get this module to install in the "normal" method. Getting the following error:
ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package. :sigh

Please to try install it once again. If you still have problem then you can always unzip it to your Joomla subdirectory and install it from there.
We tested it with Joomla 1.0.12 and there was no problem at all.
